Part of the former gardens of Belhus House, which were designed by Capability Brown. It consists of two woodlands separated by part of the Long Pond, now truncated by the M25 motorway. The open grassland between the woods and the M25 contains some plants that are unusual in Essex, including harebells.
Visiting
Access from Hamble Lane and Humber Avenue in South Ockendon or from Belhus Woods via the footbridge across the M25.
Half-hourly service from Romford to Lakeside via Upminster station runs along Romford Road.
Accessible at all times.
Surfaced path loop suitable for wheelchairs.
